Life with Character strenghts.

My life is better with character strenghts because I can apply them in different situations every day. By learning them help me to discover new things and make decisions correctly. And practice them help me and all people around to live in peace.

Problem where we hadn´t use Character Strenghts.

One time when a teacher was scolding me and I answer back in a bad way and the consequence was that they gave me a report. They wouldn´t send me a report if I hadn´t answer back to the teacher by using Self-Control.

Situation where was showed Character strenghts.

One time that I was in the street I used social intelligence and curiosity.Social intelligence to think how I will felt if I were a homeless and curiosity to know the situations that they need to face every day.  I helped a homeless by giving him/her food and clothes.

Tips

-Curiosity: By having interest in learn about a subject, and with your classmates to know more about them.
-Social Intelligence: Learn how to work in teams. And when a new student enters to our school, we should welcome him/her.
- Gratitude:  By being thankful with your partners for being your friends and teachers by teach us.
-Optimism: Always  cheer up all the classmates to don´t give up in activities or subjects.
 -Self-control: Learn how to sit down propertly when the teacher is talking or don´t interrupt them when they are explaining.

Our character strenghts.

Abi has optimism, curiosity and self-control. In class, where I have optimism thinking that if I finish the work i will not have homework, curiosity to know what work we are going to have and self-control to don´t answer back in a bad way to the students or teachers. Alan has gratitude, optimism and zest. First gratitude, because when someone help me in something that I needed, I always thank them back. Optimism, because I always help friends when they are sad or depressed. And zest, because when I swim I do it as if it was the last day I could swim.

Comparison between what we thought and what character strenghts were.

In the post "Character strengths of our teacher" we thought and write that he has optimism and social intelligence. After in the last post called "After Interviewing him about his caracter strenghts" he told us that he has self-control and optimism. We think that he is a very nice teacher, because he cares much about his students. And we want to congratulate him for teacher's day, for all the hard work he has done for a long time.

After interviewing our teacher, he told us that he has self-control and optimism, because since he was little he was taught to control himself and to see a happy life. Also he told us that he likes the Jorge Bucai's story called El Oso which he use to see the life happy when he was jobless because the thing was difficult, but we must stop seeing the negative things, and in self-control to don't deseperate or do inappropriate or become depressed.

Character strengths of our teacher.

We think our teacher has optimism because he always smile at everyone and salute everyone when his students enter his class, also because almost never get angry or frustated. He has social intelligence because he knows how to be with others students and teachers, he´s a very appreciated and respectful teacher in the school.

Introducing our teacher...

His name is Juan Guillermo, he is a Spanish teacher, he is a young man and is a tall man, his classes are interesting, because he tried to teach us in a funny way. He likes to be a teacher and enjoys being with his students. He dislikes that his students ask for permission to go to the restroom during class. His hobbies are reading, playing chess,talking with his students in time break and rest. He likes to make everyone happy. He has a wife and 3 children. He is now a great Spanish teacher in high school. He studies in UNIVA (Universidad del Valle de Atemajac) en Guadalajara.

Optimistic Song.

 It has optimism in the part where the girl is happy with papers with messages flying around her and she take one that says "And we´re gonna be all right, dry your tears and hold tight".

Definition of optimism.

The Definition of Optimism

Optimism comes from the Latin word optimus, meaning "best," which describes how an optimistic person is always looking for the best in any situation and expecting good things to happen. Optimism is the tendency to believe, expect or hope that things will turn out well. Even if something bad happens, like the loss of a job, an optimist sees the silver lining. For me, getting laid off was the catalyst that allowed me to start my own business. As I packed up my office, my mind was already whirling with the possibilities ahead. Without that push, I may never have made the leap to self-employment. Losing my job was a good thing after all.
